New Bowl Projection For Miami Heading Into Saturday’s Action

Miami won its final two games of the season, ending with a 7-5 record.Miami finished with a 4-4 record in the ACC, two games behind Coastal division champion Pittsburgh. The Hurricanes aren’t in play for the College Football Playoff or a New Year’s Six bowl, but they will still be an attractive option because of their national fan base.During the season, Miami lost to LSU, Virginia, Boston College, Duke and Georgia Tech. The Hurricanes beat Savannah State, Toledo, FIU, North Carolina, Florida State, Virginia Tech and Pittsburgh.Miami is one of 11 possible bowl eligible teams in the ACC. It’s a crowded field.Friday, Eric Single of Sports Illustrated updated his bowl projections. Right now, he has Miami in the Walk-On’s Independence Bowl against UAB. The contest is played on December 27 in Shreveport, Louisiana.Miami, with the win, would finish with an 8-5 season.We’ll know Miami’s actual bowl destination on Sunday afternoon, after the College Football Playoff rankings are announced.last_img read more
