It has been a close competition from the word go. With all the contestants being big achievers in their professional careers, before the entered the pageant, it was a tough call for the esteemed panel of judges to make their final call.But the one who emerged the winner finally was Miss France, Iris Mittenaere. Haiti’s Raquel Pelissier was placed the first runner-up, while Colombia’s Andrea Tovar finished as the second runner-up. During the pageant, she says she would like to use the Miss Universe platform to spread awareness about to dental and oral hygiene around the world. Mittenaere is also an extreme-sports fanatic; she loves travelling and cooking French dishes.Though Miss India Universe, Bengaluru girl Roshmitha Harimurhty did not make it even to the top 13, Miss Philippines–the pageant is being held in Manila, Philippines, this year–went only as far as ‘Top 6’, and got eliminated when the ‘Top 3’ were announced, which were Miss France, Miss Colombia and Miss Haiti.The hosts for the show, plus-size model Ashley Graham, and TV show host Steve Harvey–who’s now famous for last year’s big Miss Universe name mess up–kept the evening light and lively on the morning of December 30, 2017.
